Welcome to the Yard Oracle!
What is the Yard Oracle?
With the ABU Frankenmarkt, we’re launching our betting game, the “Yard Oracle.”
Anyone can participate: coaches, friends, acquaintances, ABU fans, and, of course, the event participants.
For each event, you’ll need to answer three questions or submit your predictions for them.
These are the questions
Who will be the ABU finisher?
How many yards will the finisher have to run to be the last one standing?
If there is no finisher, the yards of the participants with the most laps will be counted.
How many yards will all ABU participants run in total at this event?

The oracle opens five days before each event and closes when the race starts.
You can change bets you’ve already placed online until the race starts.
EVERY ABU EVENT is scored and settled separately!
The Scoring System
Scoring is based on the following system:
Each question is worth a maximum of 20 points.
Question 1 is worth 20 points for the correct finisher.
Question 2 is also worth 20 points for a correct guess. Each yard of deviation results in one point less. Example: The winner runs 35 yards. A guess of 35 yards earns 20 points. A guess of 34 or 36 yards earns 19 points. A guess of 30 or 40 yards earns 15 points, etc. ...
Question 3 also awards 20 points for the exact yardage. Full points are awarded for an exact guess with a deviation of ±25 yards. For every additional 50 yards off the mark, the point total is reduced by 1.
Example: The total number of yards run is 2,500. Anyone who guesses between 2,475 and 2,524 yards gets 20 points. Anyone who guesses between 2,425 and 2,474 or 2,525 and 2,574 gets 19 points; anyone who guesses between 2,375 and 2,424 or 2,575 and 2,624 gets 18 points, etc. ...

Who wins?
The winner of the prediction game—that is, the person with the most points—will receive 50% of the total entry fees collected.
The remainder will go into a donation fund and be donated to a charitable cause at the end of the ABU season.
If multiple players tie for the highest total score across the three questions, the prize will be split among those players.
